Man swallowed by whale during Sardine Run

Have you always wondered what would happen if you were to be swallowed by a whale during a dive? Well here is a video of a man nearly being swallowed by a Bryde’s whale while diving during the Sardine Run in South Africa!

Rainer Schimpf, a 51-year-old tour operator in Algoa Bay, South Africa, was filmed with his legs hanging out of a whale’s mouth after it had grabbed him.

The incident happened about 46km offshore during the sardine run.

Schimpf said he was filming dolphins, dusky sharks, gannets, penguins, cormorants and gulls feeding on the sardines.
